So, how did I get here?
It all began when I was 49 years old and diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. At the time, I was a physical mess—190 pounds with an A1C of 7.4. I knew something had to change. Within three months, I brought my A1C down to 6.0 and dropped to 160 pounds. Three more months later, I had it down to 5.7/5.8.
Fast forward five years to November 19, 2017—at age 54—my life changed forever. I suffered a hemorrhagic stroke on the left side of my brain and spent five weeks in rehab. That’s where “The Basal Ganglia Connection” began.
My goal is simple: to share what I’ve learned. I’ve tried a lot of things—some worked, some didn’t—and if my experience can save you time or guide you even a little, it’s worth it.
I’m 58 years old as I write this, weighing 140 pounds now (thanks to the gourmet meals at the hospital!). If there’s one word I want you to take away from this, it’s PERSEVERANCE. No matter what God allows to come my way, I will keep moving forward.
Now, the legal disclaimer: what I share here is based on my personal journey. I can't promise it will work for you, but I hope you approach it with an open mind. If any part of it helps you, even in a small way, then this has been worthwhile.
