A few thank you's are in order because this trip is a journey and cannot be taken alone, which is a hard thing to realize when you are a Type A personality like me.
This journey has been anything but solitary. As someone with a Type A personality, it’s not easy to admit needing help, but I’ve come to realize that recovery, growth, and healing are not meant to be traveled alone.
Brenda, my wife – Thank you for your patience, strength, and unwavering support. You’ve endured more than your share, especially as I’ve navigated the challenges of aphasia. I am deeply grateful.
Paul – From hospital visits to horse therapy sessions and the move to Orlando, you’ve stood by me every step of the way. Your presence has meant more than words can express.
Fred – A true fighter and friend. You flew in from Colorado soon after I left the hospital and snapped me out of my self-pity. Your determination inspired me to adopt the mindset: “Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t.”
Tony – You’ve been like a brother. Whether it was ensuring I got to horse therapy, helping me regain my driving confidence, or making my move seem effortless, your support has been invaluable.
Ritch – A true friend from church. Whether cutting the lawn or lending a hand with whatever needed to be done, you showed up when it mattered most. Our daughters’ friendship brought us together, but your generosity solidified our bond.
Madeline – Your kind encouragement during our walks and your help putting this blog together have lifted me. You’ve been a light along this path, and I’m thankful for the way you’ve shared your spirit with me.
Jeannie – My final thank you is especially heartfelt. Your guidance and support during horse therapy have been pivotal, and you played a crucial role in connecting me with CORE Therapy. Your belief in me continues to make a difference.
I have others I can thank as my journey proceeds, and please know that you are part of my journey as well.
