Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) stands for Pulsed Electromagnetic Field. Devices that utilize Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) technology emit electromagnetic waves at different frequencies in order to stimulate and encourage your body’s natural recovery process. It is natural to question how Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) technology can benefit your body when other electromagnetic fields - like those produced by microwaves and x-ray machines - are harmful. According to “frequency and duration make all the difference.” The waves created by Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) devices occur in brief bursts and are very low-frequency, like the electromagnetic waves found in nature. In fact, most waves involved in Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) treatments have a lower frequency than you would be exposed to during a thunderstorm.
The selected model was the BEMER for my Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF). BEMER PEFT -Bio Electro Magnetic Energy Regulation with Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy demonstrated noticeable effectiveness and I continue to use it.
Another model identified after I had placed my order that also appears to be a reputable option and that is the iMRS 2000.
Either one are both viable options for those willing to invest and A summary of the iMRS 2000 is provided below the iMRS 2000 (brief) write up for your use.
IMRS PRIME VS BEMER
Many of our clients ask if they should choose the iMRS Prime (also known as the iMRS 2000, or iMRS 2000 Prime) or Bemer systems. They are similarly priced Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) mat systems but you simply get much more for your money with the iMRS Prime system.
Here are four of the extras that you get:
1. More effective waveforms
Sawtooth and Square wave as standard for the iMRS Prime vs Sinusoidal for Bemer. Furthermore, if desired you want to use another waveform, the iMRS Prime is capable of generating any Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) waveform you desire. (Advanced training and certification required).
2. More frequencies
Four frequency sets as standard with the iMRS Prime (0.5Hz, 3Hz, 5.5Hz, 15Hz) all within the optimum biological window for the cell of 30 Hz, vs Two for Bemer at 10 and 33 Hz. Additionally, you can create any frequency range you desire with the iMRS Prime thanks to the dedicated professional signal generator that’s included. (Advanced training and certification required).
3. More intensity range
The iMRS Prime offers both a higher and also a much lower intensity option than the Bemer system. The lower intensity iMRS Prime settings are ideal for sensitive individuals, and fall in line with the remarkably effective picotesla Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) intensity values.
4. Additional optional extras
The list of optional and upgradeable extras for the iMRS Prime is long. And this again sets the iMRS Prime apart as the best Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) mat system available. From the Exagon Sense biofeedback and Exagon Brain brainwave entrainment accessories to the iMRS Prime iGUIDE database, users have a wide range of configuration options with this system. Add to that, brand new Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) applicators and even a new hybrid mat featuring Far Infrared (FIR) technology, and choosing the iMRS Prime system becomes even easier.
Additional information about Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) devices follows.
1. Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) machines work in conjunction with the body’s own recovery processes to relieve pain by restoring cells’ ability to function efficiently.
Our skin, bones, and organs are composed of tiny cells. The membrane of a healthy cell has both positive and negative charges that are required for the exchange of potassium, sodium, and calcium ions. When cells become distressed from disease, trauma or toxins, they lose their ability to function efficiently. Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) restores the positive and negative charges in the cell, enabling it to perform its natural function while speeding tissue recovery.
2. Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) machines operate on different frequencies and this is what often sets them apart.
Everyone’s body responds differently to electromagnetic waves and different frequencies target specific tissue types.
3. The human body requires electricity to send signals through the body and to the brain.
Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) therapy works effectively to re-align the electric potential of our cells.
Resting cells are negatively charged on the inside, while the outside of the cell is more positively charged. The flow of charges across the cell membrane is what generates electrical currents.
When a cell is stimulated, it allows positive charges to enter the cell through open ion channels. The inside of the cell then becomes more positively charged, which triggers further electrical currents that can turn into electrical pulses, called action potentials. Our bodies use certain patterns of action potentials to initiate the correct movements, thoughts and behaviors.
A disruption in electrical currents can lead to illness. Pulsed Electromagnetic Field therapy (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF)) can restore the disruption of the electrical current to its normal state, therefore, helping restore the cell.
4. Unlike x-ray machines, Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) wave frequencies are completely safe.
Electromagnetic fields (EMFs) are invisible areas of energy, often referred to as radiation, that are associated with the use of electrical power and various forms of natural and man-made lighting.
EMFs are typically characterized by wavelength or frequency into one of two radioactive categories:
· Non-ionizing: low-level radiation which is generally perceived as harmless to humans
· Ionizing: high-level radiation which has the potential for cellular and DNA damage
5. Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) therapy has a 60+ year long track record of clinical success.
Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) therapy has 60+ years of clinical success in relieving pain at the source by pulsing electromagnetic waves at precise frequencies, speeding the body's recovery at a cellular level.
Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) therapy was approved by the FDA in 1979 specifically for the healing of nonunion fractures, which came after a Columbia University study that was encouraged by NASA, and has recently gained attention in the U.S. The value of pulsed electromagnetic field therapy has been shown to cover a wide range of conditions, with well documented trials carried out by hospitals, rheumatologists, physiotherapists, and neurologists.
6. Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) technology was developed after WWII (though its origins go back much further) and was researched and adopted by NASA.
Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) therapy actually originated from NASA’s research involving the benefits of pulsed electromagnetic fields on astronauts for fatigue, depression, bone loss and other symptoms following even short trips to outer space. Scientists discovered that the cause was due to astronauts being without this beneficial natural field emanating from our Earth. (
NASA did a 4-year collaborative study on the efficacy of electromagnetic fields to stimulate growth and repair in mammalian tissues.
7. Many of the first Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) machines originated in Eastern Europe.
Prior to the invention of the first Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) machine, Nikola Tesla created the first magnetic loop coil, which are now used in all modern Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) machines. Some of the first devices were invented in Czech Republic and then introduced to Hungary in the 1980’s. By the late 1990’s, much of Europe was already familiar with Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) therapy.
8. The first Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) machine was quite large.
The original Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) devices consisted of a Helmholtz coil—a life-size, space-age looking machine, that produced a nearly uniform region of magnetic fields. The patient was placed inside this machine to deliver treatment. Today, the majority of Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) wellness devices resemble a yoga mat in dimensions, but are slightly thicker to house several flat spiral coils to produce an even electromagnetic field.
9. Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) therapy was FDA approved decades ago.
Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) technology has been FDA approved for 25 years for bone healing, post-surgical pain and healing, pain and inflammation, knee pain and even depression.
10. Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) machines are not just for people. Animals respond to them, too!
Veterinarians became the first health professionals to use Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) therapy, usually to heal broken legs in racehorses.
